I call myself an artist; well, that was until I looked up the definition in Webster's Dictionary.
Artist - Noun
- a person who creates art; a person who is skilled at drawing, painting, etc.
- a skilled performer
- a person who is very good at something.
What defines me as an artist is a little different from Webster's description. I do create and paint, however, I fall more into etc. My art is an expression always driven by love, my love of God, family, my home town Cleveland, Ohio, or my love for people and nature. Those who know me best would tell you not to be mislead into thinking I am an outside girl. I like nature through the window, or at least that is what my husband says.
I've always used art to express what is going on inside of me, but I would have never pictured myself writing a blog. Lately, I find myself with so much whirling around in my head, that it has to come out with words. I'll be using this blog to share my musings with you, and I sincerely hope that you will comment, and share some of your stories with me.
Here we go!
Love this. It took a long time for me to own the “artist” title; I cannot draw, or paint in the traditional sense—yet I do create art in an anti-Webster’s fashion!! Go on ahead and add “writer” to your bag of tricks. We shall all forgive the odd typo (haha…) and hear what you have to say…
